The first tactical-style rifle I bought and built as I got into shooting a year or so ago was a DPMS Panther Sportical with just a few modifications.
Quad-rail
five-position folding fore-grip
green laser on the right side with pressure pad in the foregrip
tactical light on the left side with thumb switch
ACOG-type scope
UTG ergonomic pistol grip
I gotta say, this thing shoots LASER beams! Well actually bullets...but they all go in the same place...which is pretty awesome considering I'm really not THAT good of a shot yet.
Love my black rifle! |

Stop it! You're making me have a warm and fuzzy sensation go down the side of my leg!
Just kidding.
Anyway, nice set up there. You have truly inspired me to now go out and buy the parts to build my own kit. Should such an event take place, I hope the final product will be just as nice as yours is.
BTW, what type of barrel do you have there on your EBR? 1x7 twist or 1x9? __________________ "Surpress all compassion and you bear a weapon far greater than any held in the hand." - The Psychology of the Assassin Last edited by Major Kusanagi; 04-14-2009 at 09:45 AM. |

I appreciate the kind words man! When I decided to take up shooting as a hobby because my FORMER hobby (paintball) had become my LIVING, I went to a gun shop that specializes in building custom AR's, so I had some great guidance in my friends at Kingdom Arms.
I really like the way my DPMS ended up. Considering how inexpensive yet quality my Sportical has proven to be it's been a great first AR for me, and it made the upgrades a lot more affordable.
To directly answer your question, the Sportical is delivered with a 1x9, right-hand twist 16inch barrel with a birdcage flash hider.
When you get your kit together, make sure to let us all have a look! Lord knows there's plenty of accessories out there.

Because you are new here and haven't been bitten by the "Build your own AR" bug yet....
But, it will happen quite shortly. You will most of us here are similarly afflicted. __________________ "as for my Sword & Spear we will serve the throne, but NEVER that man who sits upon it" - Achilles - Warrior of Warriors

I love that buttstock, the DPMS "Pardus" collapsible buttstock. I was thinking about buying one for my "evil little friend". __________________ Century Arms AR-15A2, 5.56

Nice gun! You have to try their LR308 next...just as accurate with a lot more power. It's the logical progression for those bitten by the AR bug! __________________ Guns Have Only Two Enemies-Rust and Politicians
