That's actually a bit lower than I've know as "standard".

I will be taking my sons carbine out camping this weekend, No real official range shooting, But Just to see how it does, My qusetion is, Should I get some 5.56 ammo or will the .223 I have be good enough?
It is a 5.56 barrel.
I will take some pic's and what not, Just curious about your thoughts.

The .223 will be fine. Thats what I use the majority of the time.

I'll second that, .223 is fine and the cheaper the better for plinking.
