My (2nd) 1st AR

A couple of years ago I bought a S&W M&P. About 4 months later, it was stolen. BASTARDS! Anyway, I finally decided to plunk down on another AR. I had been considering shelling out for a LaRue 5.56 OBR. Then two things happened. I realized that I just don't need that much stick...and I fell in love with a Colt 6940 at the local store Saturday!

Looking for a good scope for it, putting in a RRA 2-stage National Match trigger and a decent bi-pod. Since Saturday afternoon I've put 120 rounds through it without a single problem. I think its a good thing I didn't go with the OBR.

Very nice, shenny, and great pictures! You just can't go wrong with Colt. But I'm sorry to hear your S&W was stolen though.

This is one of the new lowered price Colts?

You will love it! Mine is an older 6940.

Thats a good looking firearm.

Yeah, really nice! Maybe some day I'll get a Colt AR to match my 1911.

shenny 03-14-2011 01:40 PM

See, now I need a Colt 1911 to match my AR! Brilliant!

Id like Colt even more if they had a mid length gas system.

I don't know why Colt doesn't offer one, it would sell like crazy. How hard can it be, all the research has been done by others and Colt has access to all the parts.
