muzzle brake info.
 

this is going on a 24" fluted heavy barrel .223 AR15, i want one i like the looks of, but i also want to see the bullet hit the target at 300 yards. here are the two that i cant make my mind up about.

the first one is an HK style break, threaded 1/2x28 and u clamp it down to index

and this is a BMG style break that i just love the look of and think would complement my rifle nicely. im just torn by which one i want and there both pricey

if i wanted a break/suppressor adapter this is the only one i would get

the only prblem with the aac ones is they have a loud *ping* when you shoot with one.

i am getting a suppressor but this video is what sold it for me. the 25 sec mark showing the ar15 before and after


i dont have mine yet its still on order but shouldnt be too long. ive used brakes before on M1A and ones designed for effectivness tend to work much better than ones designed to look cool

The two you posted are fine if you are going for looks only.

If you want a compensator that works you should look at the BC 2.0. Battle Comp

I have to be honest here. You are looking at getting a 24" heavy barrel for a .223?

You don't NEED a muzzle break. ;)

The weight of the weapon is going to do all the dampening you need. Seriously the .223 round doesn't kick THAT much. The muzzle break is only going to throw a ton of dirt and debris around your shooting area, thus infuriating your fellow range shooters, unless you get more of a "tank" style break that only vents to the sides. Then you will just be blowing hot gas and excessive noise in their face. :p

A weapon in this configuration really doesn't need a break. It's money that could be better spent elsewhere on the platform.

JD! It's great to see you posting after a break from here! Hmmm, didn't mean the pun... muzzle brake :p

The two I posted will far out perform the battle comp, but the back blast and noise will be far greater.

The battle comp is just a fair compromise of noise flash and brake, IM just looking for all out brake with no bottom ports.

As for not needing one, well when I shoot for distance I like to see the hole form on paper threw the scope and be able to give a fallow up as fast as I can.

Try and tell the competition guys that a break is not needed. I want distance and speed. Therefore I need a brake.

JP has some great ones as well. But I also want some thing that not many other have, that works as needed, yet looks good on my rifle as well.

I just sold my bull barrel yesterday so this is the rifle that the bushmaster barrel is going in.
