Got the kits in. As a learning experience, a friend and I completed 2 ARs with the kits from http://akpartskits.com/index.html

Get the sights from www.brownells.com

Completed packages came under $600 each.

(And my dern camera is on the fritz.)

Here's the deal....

Went out looking for lowers, decided I needed an AR right now.

I am not, I repeat, NOT suspending this build. Two is better than one.

So updates....

I like to deal with sponsors and vendors here whenever possible. If they're good, I like to bump them as much as possible, good for me, good for them, good for FTF.

ROG Tactical is responsible for the guts of the project. Good price, fast shipping. Look them up. Order to receive was 3 days.

CMMG manufactured the parts. And unlike some places I've seen, they don't just toss them in a sandwich bag and call it a day. These are nicely packaged in color-coded baggies, with a legend to keep it all straight.

Cool deal! Glad you were able to get the one you needed up front.

Still looking forward to what you put together on #2.

Side note...

Zeroed in the new AR, ran the P Mags. Flawless.

I had some (I believe) Tapco mags for the AK that were absolute junk, so I was wary of the P Mags, but it was unwarranted.

The only downside is I purchased my first at Gander Mountain, for $20. I found them at the gun show for $14.

So respect out to P Mags.

Big respect to ROG Tactical.

Respect to CMMG.

I will never again in life buy anything from Gander Mountain. This is the last in a long line of issues I've had with the place.

That's a really nice kit for the beginning, or unsure, builder because all the parts are color coded and identified on the bag, plus the legend tells you all the names.

Call up a blueprint or schematic on line and it's easy to follow along for the build of your first lower.

Congrats on the set forward and the operation of the new A2, My Friend.
