Nothing wrong with commercial size. Besides, if you later upgrade to Mil-Spec, then you have parts to start your next build

Almost impossible to tell right away. It's just words. Commercial does not sound cool, they should have named it Super Mil Spec or something.

Its a bit more than that.

Commercial tubes are bigger in diameter. This means they are weaker more easily crushed or bent. Milspec tubes are smaller diameter and stronger less likely to be bent or crushed.

That's the difference in materials.

The other benefit of a milspec tube is there are more stocks available than commercial tubes hence more options. If you have a choice get milspec buffer tubes.

I can't believe that in 7 pages no one has mentioned Rock River Arms LAR 15. I own 2 and they are the most accurate AR's I own other than my 2 Noveske's. I also own LMT, BCM, POF, S&W, LWRC and Ruer AR's. The trigger pull on the RRA is 2nd to non. Very light and crisp unlike most of the others. Here a link to tombstone Tactical in AZ. I have purchased AR's from them and they are very reliable.

http://www.tombstonetactical.com/catalog/rock-river/ar1204-lar-15-tactical-car-a4-rifle-5.56mm-16in-30rd-black-dominator-2/.

This AR 15 cost $911.60. I am sure other vendor sell them at the same price. But if you order one from them and have an FFL dealer receive it you only pay a transfer fee usually 20-30 dollars and no tax.

This thread ended 3 years ago I brought it back up cause it fit the questions I needed to ask.
Not concerned about accuracy right this minute
