Seriously, good comments on various DI gas systems, Agent.... usually things are timed well in quality brands but the cheaper, best selling ones off the rack tend to be overgassed.
I absolutely agreed Q, as I've found this to be true. It makes sense, as a manufacturer with lax quality controls to biased to overgas a system. Which is why it will eat just about any ammo, but might start cracking bolt lugs and breaking extractors prematurely.

I have only personal experience with Spikes and Stags being over. My Rainer Arms is gassed great. I had a JSE surplus which is gas right (surprising right?). I wish I had the funds to buy one of everything but meh my kids don't eat ammo.....yet.

I can't really recommend lower end DPMS Bushmaster or DTI because PSA's prices match theirs and has better specs. Id like to try out a S&M MP, just for the roll mark and melonited 1x8 barrel.

I would like to mention that dpms 3 gun model seems pretty damn sesci tho. Maybe if I can get some time off to compete......

Gotta agree with that! For my first stripped lower I paid a little more to get a S&W M&P. Great lower, I'm still proud of that rollmark even though nothing else in the gun is S&W.

I do think that for an off the rack gun in many shops the S&W might be a good choice, even the Sport if you have to go low ball.

The biggest issue with assembling an AR isn't so much getting the parts together right - it's getting the right parts together. You'll remember the quality of a gun long after you forget how much you paid for it.

Well maybe what I need one of you guys to do is just sell me your ready to go AR thats gassed properly without all the faults some of these companies put in them at a more than dirt cheap price . sound reasonable . JK

so I know I have picked a couple different models out, if you were not to purchase those 2 and stay under the $900 limit what would you buy ?
Im asking this because you guys are 1000 X more knowledgable with this type of gun than myself

This first sig AR was a piston type system. This M400 is a regular direct impingement gas system. Its new to the market, not much info on it. Price points puts it up against the venerable old standby Colt, low end Daniel Defence, and BCM. Sigs are cool and all, but I'd rather get a Colt or BCM for that money.

MOE package, includes:
Magpul Handguards- I love them, feels way better than the round handguards about $35
Magpul MOE pistol grip. ($20) I like them, I like the MOE+ and MIAD alot more.
Mappul Trigger guard ($10) you'll save .25 ounces in weight as it is plastic. Its...Meh wutever.
Mapul MOE collapseable stock ($45 ish) Its good, very light. Locks up ok. I like the way it looks more. Purely subjective.

The best thing tho...is that you can get these in different colors. FDE flat dark earth (being in Cali, this would be my choice...nothing but desert out here), OD olive drab, FG forest green (a little grayish light green) and of course Super Tactical Midnight Operator Black (black).

Honestly the only thing that I think you really want is the handguards. These are just little things, you can easily change them out later. There is a sh*ton of stuff out there so this can always come later.

Getting the kit will save you a few bucks. If you are anything like me tho, I'd rather just order it on my own, probably get exactly what I want, and keep the old parts as spares, or sell them (you honestly aren't gonna get much for them tho)

Honestly, we are quibbling over the gassing. Its really not a big deal. Don't worry about it. If your gun is undergassed, its a bigger problem. You will get FTFeeds and FTEjects and double feeds, and headaches......

Consider the 16" model. I think 1.5" is not a big deal for a 6"1' guy. I like to change out the muzzle device, with a 14.5" is welded on......just a thought.

I was on another site prowling around and found a thread about the PSA
M4A1 I hadnt scrolled down thaty far as I saw the gun just getting pricier as I went down the page guess I shoulda scrolled down farther
Palmetto State Armory 16" M4A1 Carbine

Pretty sweet setup and I like the longer setup myself not to mention they have it for $599 right now , which makes it a sweeter deal I understand about customizing for that $100 I could do what I wanted not what was just in their package . Knock on wood everything I have heard about PSA is nothing but good so far its too bad I didnt pick them earlier because of the cheaper price I just assumed CHEAP to begin with .
Thanks again guys this will prob be the last one until it comes in and I can provide some gun porn . My local FFL dealer is on vacation until monday but he is supposed to get back with me today on his info so I can get the ball rolling
Scott

That's a lot of rifle for $599! I would rather go with a LW midlength but it's hard to argue against that M4 profile at that cost.
