Default Modding my Bushy ORC 308

Trying to get a stock Bushy carbine to shoot as straight as possible without getting too deep into the guts.
So far I've put on a Mil-spec tube, an ACS stock, MOE grip, Bayo rail with adapter, Harris bipod, M11 muzzle brake, and a Wilson Combat TTU M2 trigger. Also a Colt reversible safety cause I'm a lefty. Right now I have a patched together scope assy. The factory supplied risers with a cheap set of rings and a Burris 3x9 FullfieldII. I have the BOBRO 201300 mount and am getting a Leupold VXR 4x12x40. Hoping to put Magpul BUIS under the eyepiece and in front of the objective on the forearm. Have a scope body to get clearances from and it looks like the rear sight will clear well under the BOBRO. Shooting an inch and an eighth now with Federal Fusion 165 gr. Wondering if an accuwedge works in the 308 or is it too small? Anyone have any neat tricks?

Are the handguard free floating? I'd change that first if they aren't.

The second thing I'd change is the ammo. Get match grade ammo and it will make a difference too.

Do the free float handguards make a real difference? Often wondered.

I do have 1 whole box of 168 gr. Federal match I'm saving it for after I get my new scope mounted.

Since this post I managed a 7/8" three shot group with Win. BST 168s have 1 whole box of them left also.

I'll put them up as soon as I get the permanent scope....My current cobble job is just too ugly to take out in public.

All the mods you posted so far will not affect consistency except the trigger and optic. If you are already shooting under 1 moa consistently you are done.

Free floating your handguards will improve consistency.

What do your 10 shot groups look like?

Consistently it's been a little over an inch, I've made too many changes and I'm struggling with them. I would debate you over the M11 brake tho. It has really changed the recoil and it may help me if not the rifle. There won't be any big groups soon if at all. It's being used pretty much like a bolt gun.
