Default Midlength or riflelength quadrail?

I have a 14.5 m4 carbine barrel with low pro gas block. I just can't decide between the YMH spector diamond free float or the rifle diamond free float. I think they both look nice. But im not very experienced with them. Thought id ask all of your opinions? Thanks.

I depends on how far out you want your support hand. If midlength will do you'll save a few ounces.

I put a 15" on one of 16" barrels and I have a 14.5 middy on the way that Im going to put a troy 9" handguard on but Im going to take the FSP off to put the handguard on and put the FSP back on it for a different look and I like the FSP better for irons .

I like what you are planning! It will look very similar to this...

Noveske 14.5" Light Carbine with FSB, 9" NSR, and pinned BattleComp 1.5

Good call. I really like a fsp best , they are durable and provide the best gas seal of anything. I really hate all my stuff looking the same but The troy handguard fits best in my hand and I'm most accurate with it so that's the way I go with my builds. I figured to make it a little different I would go middy build as all my stuff is carbine. Why you ask? Because it just works. It's tough to beat a great working carbine. Oh and I will be looking for another troy hand guard in 9" . U still have the troy discount?

Here is what the rifle length handguard looks like on a midlength 16" barrel ...not quite the same setup as you but it might help picture what yours would look like. And yeah the yhm handguard is pretty big, diameter wise. But I have big hands so it works for me (I also added xtm rail panels making it even wider). But in my opinion you can't beat the price of the diamond series handguards. The fit and finish is really nice, and install was easy
