The "knockoff" MBUS sights are made by Magpul for the airsoft community along with other parts, from what I understand they are made of a lesser plastic than the standard parts are, other than that the designs are identical.

You're probably correct about the lesser plastic. It would make complete sense to me.

I believe they farm the PTS stuff to an overseas company to avoid all the export/import laws.

What do you not like about them?
When I flip the lever to pop the rear sight into action, the smaller aperture gets thrown halfway between requiring me to either reach up and flip it down out if the way or flip it the up into view. And it seemed like everytime I took the gun out, I was having to adjust them. Hard to explain, I'm sorry.

I like everything else I have purchased from magpul. I highly recommend most of their gear. Just not stoked on these sights. I just feel like fixed sights would have been a better choice. Mostly just an opinion....

wonder if you got a fake or just a bad one ? Products do fail from time to time and Im sure that Magpul will take care of you if it is their product . my aperture is very hard to move and very solid , I bought mine from Primary Arms just to make sure I got the real deal , didnt want to take a chance on ebay and have a bad experience

SOme guys don't like them but it sounds like your problem is a defect. Magpul is known for taking care of their customers. Once I called about a missing nut for a rear MBUS. The plan was to purchase one from them but the lady insisted they send me one for free including shipping.

Maybe I'll give them another go around... I'm up for having my mind changed on them. I'll play with them a little more and see what I come up with. I bought them from a reputable dealer that I trust very much, so I am confident in the sale. But maybe I'll double check that end too.
Thanks for the insight...knowing that others have tighter apertures maybe mine is just loose?

Sometimes I don't have the time. Out from behind the seat it comes and off we go. Now I use a cheap BSA halo graphic doojob. 40 bucks and I have zero complaints. I am going to give the magpuls another go round though cause I like the backup option.
