Why don't you want the integrated trigger guard? Just curious.

It's my first build, so I want to start with an "OEM" type lower. I'll probably consider it for future builds because I'm sure I'll want to build a billet lower down the road.

Look into mega forged lowers. All have flared magwells, tensioner screws to remove any play between the upper and lower, and finally, get this...TEXTURED MAGWELLS.

I love em! (Mega, Gun Smoke Enterprises, POF, Alexander Arms, Rainier Arms, Riflegear, and a couple others I can't remember offhand).

There are some other receivers, with threaded screws for the bolt release, and a threaded set screw to hold down in the spring for the detent for the rear takedown pin. Lotsa a little functional things that differentiate receivers.

Tikki, those little things aren't a game changer for me, considering this is my first build. I want to do it top tier and maximize the value even though I don't sell my weapons. I know, it sounds crazy. I want to build a top tier rifle that commands the most amount of "respect" while staying true to it's purpose, a working rifle.

I understand the heart of the rifle, I just want my foundation to be as solid as possible when considering all of the varibles. The variable I'm seeking advice on is "What stripped lower would you choose to build your dream weapon"?

Qualifiers are: forged, 7075 T6 mil-spec or built the exact same as the TDP, maximum value roll mark, and not priced liked a 1997 Toyota Supra twin turbo(WAY overpriced).

I do intend to build others and deviate off the path, so to say. For my first though, I know what I want and I'm not willing to make concessions or veer off my course. I appreciate your EXP and input, please share anything you consider relevant. Thanks.

LOL! I've had the disease since I first touched one off in my youth. I'm very familiar with the platform, but I've yet to build one.

You know the saying, you never forget your first!

After this "dream" build, my intentions are to build an SBR 9mm that takes G18 mags, an SPR in 6.8 or 6.5, a HB match type in 5.56, a 5.56 SBR M4 clone(minus the giggle switch, unless I win the Florida Lottery), a 5.56 kitty cat, a .300BLK, the list in my brain and on paper goes on and on and on.........
