I've also built quite a bit on PSA. They're about $100 each and equal to Noveske in function. You're paying for the name, but sometimes there's value in doing so.
Where can you find them for $160? To me that is very reasonable.

If I have to part out a 6920 I would only want to keep the lower, LPK, buffer tube and buffer, and the carry handle. What do you guys think the upper, pistol grip, and butt stock would fetch individually and as a "package"?

Is it illegal to part out a rifle? I'm surprised nobody else has commented on this thread. If it's illegal, obviously I won't do it, I am just trying to find the best option to start my first build.

JoeBobOutfitters has had them @159.99, free shipping. They've been in and out a stock a few times in recent months.

Grip is worth almost nothing, stock very little, and a used complete 6920 upper maybe $500-575.

Not illegal (or we're all in trouble, LOL). The stripped lower is 'the firearm' and the only other legal issues are if you're getting into SBRs or happen to live in a state like California.

Personally I'd leave the Colt be, and start from scratch. But your proposal (basically separating upper and upgrading the stock) isn't a bad one if you really want to keep the Colt lower.

Contestant: I'll take "Awesome Deals" for $800
Alex Trebek: These billet lowers are $189.
Contestant: What are Argyle Armoring lowers?
Alex: Correct. You are now in the lead.

Thanks Sweeper.

Argyle, later on I'll consider a billet build. For this first one I'm set on starting with a forged lower.

If I can find a Noveske, that's prob what I will start with. I was pondering parting out a 6920, but I would hate to do that to a Colt.

If I could have my way though, I'd start with a Colt stripped lower. I think I saw one for around $400. That's just not worth it to me.

Does anyone know what's up with the "generations" of Noveske stripped lowers? I know chainsaws are blemmed, but I haven't found any info on the differences between the generations.

Gen1 is just like any regular forged lower. While the Gen2 is not billet but it has the integrated trigger guard and flared magwell.
If i were you, i'd part with Colt and go for Noveske. Hey that's just me though

I don't want the integrated trigger guard, but I would like the flared mag well. Does the gen1 also have the flared mag well? Thanks Donk, I appreciate the 50% and 100% off coupon codes as well.
