That was my point. Even back during Basic in 02 they werent using rifles set-up like that. Wouldn't it make more sense that the rifles reflected the rifles used as they are in "service" if they are going to catagorize it as a "service rifle" match. Is there a reason they don't? Is it to keep prices low so more guys can get involved?

i think its to do with tradition. im not in the cmp inner circle and dont have access to their correspondence. they are slow to change the rules like any organization. try competing in ipsec with a out of the box handgun... you wont stand a chance. even though the original intent was for folks to use out of the box handguns on real world type scenarios.

Mike, build a cheap basic M4 from PSA and see if it meets your standards , we all know you can unload it if it doesnt and you wont lose a dime .

I will vouch for LMT, great company and great firearm. I bought a MRP CQB. It has exceeded all all my expectations.
