Well, a .308 chambering requires an AR-10 upper/lower - unlike some other calibers on the AR-15 platform.

It really comes down to what you WANT the weapon to do. Long Range target shooting? Mid range hunting? Brush hunting? Urban chaos and announcing your boundaries??

If you want a truly custom AR, get a cnc mill and make one from a block of 7075 t6. Might cost you a couple grand and a few hundred hours.

If you a custom engracing chec out Sureshot laser marking. He does awesome work.

You can buy 7075 t6 aluminum pretty easily you will porbably pay about $25 just google for places that sell steel for contruction.

If you can legally own a firearm. (not a convict, are of age, etc etc) you can make your own.
