Default Looking For: Barrel 5.56, 18"

Finally close to finishing my first build and looking for a barrel. Doing the research thing etc, anyone have any thoughts on where to get an 18" chambered in 5.56? Currently scouring the net, and... Barrel after barrel is out of stock. I have choices in .223, but I really was planning this build around 5.56...

Tanks for the 16" link. Really looking for 18" but, who knows , maybe I will switch it up and go for the 16"

Just starting the research lol, going to keep looking, need to do some more reading on twist rates. What I found was a 1in7 twist, was hoping for 1in8 ...but, I could be wrong. Bet they both shoot fine lol

Try krieger barrels. They will make it with whatever degree crown twist length diameter fluting chamber dimension that you want

Consider a .223 Wylde chamber, not too many 5.56 Nato 18"ers.

The wylde can run both .223 remington and 5.56 nato with no problems.

That was bad typing on my part, the part about being 16" was referring to another post above that offered up a 16" 1/8 twist barrel My link was 18, 1 in 7 twist.

I ended up ordering:

https://danieldefense.com/cold-hammer-forged-barrels/18-inch-chf-barrels/18-5-56mm-s2w-mid-length-chf-barrel-stripped.html

Going to go back and do some re-reading about rifling/twist rates, from what I recall right now, this should shoot great for me, might just work best with slighly heavier grain bullets - looking forward to trying out a bunch to see what shoots well etc, and start reloading fun fun fun
