So what is the longest shot where u connected with your target with a carbine length AR chambered in 5.56? I know there are many AR-10 platforms out there that are long range shooters, but I am wondering with 5.56...I would also like to know barrel length, make and model of AR and type of ammo.

but my longest shot with a 5.56 was 1000 yards on a M60 machine gun range on man sized popups. 10 to get the bullet drop right since the sights only elevate to 800m. then i started hitting the pop ups. using my issue M16A2

Steel at 300, open sights, 77gr smk, prone on wood bench. While at 3 gun a few weeks ago.
Before that, I'd only done 100-200 benching it.

I could make a list of a bunch of guns i have, or "have", or wish I had. Why would one feel compelled to provide that infornation freely? Do you feel the need to show off? Is it some immature game of oneupsmanship?
