Default Light Primer Strike after changing Buffer Assy

My AR15 pistol was operating flawlessly with the Phase 5 Buffer Tube, 2 3/4 ounce Carbine Buffer and Carbine Spring.

So in my attempt to make it shorter, I installed the GunSmoke Enterprises (GSE) buffer. It comes with all parts, 4" Tube, Cap and Castle, Washer, Guide, Spring and Buffer Insert.

After installation, I experienced light primer strikes. This is usually a function of the Hammer/Spring and the overall cleanliness of the pin, bolt, etc.

All I can think of is that the new buffer spring is not fully closing (rotating) the bolt and leaving little if any protrusion of the firing pin.

I have compared BCGs while removed and locked similarly. All firing pins protrusions appear to be the same.

While I have yet swapped the BCG's around, I thought I would ask?
So my question is "Do I need to buy a new gun?"

i think your answer lies in the very first paragraph.

just because something may offer a percieved advantage it is easily negated by failure to operate.

the Phase 5 is back on the lower, and ready to go.

I'll have to think, and think again and see what I can come up with.
Dual Springs?
Add'l weight fit in somewhere...
Stretch Spring? no, no .... NOOOOO

Finding the problem will be fun... fixing it even better.

The new Spring and Buffer Kit, may work well for most builds. Just not working well together, for your Rifle. You do have the "Mix and Match" to try, and that may work for what you want. Unless the Kit is incompatable with the Phase 5 you have.

The 'buffer kit" that I installed was complete. It did not use the Phase 5 tube.

As noted in OP, Complete Kit as described at

Insufficient buffer weight causing the bolt to bounce back after locking (if it is even locking properly at all).

Easily could be, there is no weight to speak of in the GSE 4"
