Default Letting Others Shoot Your Firearms

Maybe It's just me but I really enjoy letting others use my firearms when at the range. I can't remember a time I havn't had guys come up and ask me questions or notice older kids glancing over at my bench.

I always ask them if they want to put a few rounds down range, present arms style. Usually it's followed by a bashful, no it's alright. I respond, "are you sure?" They always accept and I hand them a PMag and a box of ammo.

It's awesome when the kids look at their dads and w/ that Christmas morning look in their eyes express their desire to own an AR of their own.

For me there is more joy in that than pulling the trigger myself.

Do you all let others shoot your firearms?

I haven't let others pull the trigger at the range, But I have certainly taken people who would otherwise never get the chance, After some safety walkthroughs of course.
My 8 year old son has been asked if he would like to squeeze off a round or two at the range, Very cool for him, He was very happy.

I never go to a range because I got all kinds of land to shoot on,but when i'm shooting with friends or family it's not even a question,it's always like "you try it out with this ammo",or "let me try that one"

I always pay attention, when I am at the range, to other shooters. It's a safety thing first, but when I was very young some very experienced shooters let me shoot their weapons. I shot a .50BMG when I was 14.

If I get the chance, I ALWAYS let another shooter try my custom stuff. The last time I did, I sold the shooter on a Mike Rock 5R barrel for his "Meat Getting Rifle".

Paying It Forward - it's VERY good for the sport.

i do it all the time. i find it just as much fun letting others try my guns out as i get shooting them. i seldom get a chance to step back and see my own firearms in action

sometimes it irks me when a person shoots my guns better than i do lol

It's a learning experience too. You may find something that you like better than what you have. And like in Dillinger's case, it can be a learning experience for other people too. You may help them find something that they like better.

I don't normally have a problem with lending them out.
I owe one guy who I might never see again, for letting me shoot an ar in 08. It took me til 2010 but I finally got one.
As JD said, pay it forward.

I love shooting my father-in-law's revolver better than he can!

Some of my most fun shooting experiences are my friends getting together and laying out a dozen or more guns with ammo and we spend an hour or two shooting each others' guns. I love making sure everyone got a chance to shoot each of mine and I get to shoot guns I never would have thought to buy, myself.

Now we just need a 10-year-old to load our mags!!

My mom shoots my model 65 better than I can but I shoot her M&P .40 better than her, so it evens out.
