If I recall correctly, the SPC II is better as it can handle higher pressures. Think of it like the orginal saami specs are like the .223 remington, the SPC is like 5.56 nato.

I'd go with a spc2 imho.

The main difference between 6.8 SPC & SPCII is throat elongation at rifling. This allows SPCII to shoot tactical ammo , as in SSA tac line. I built my AR in Oct last year & still working up ladder loads but she likes 110 g VMAX or HPBT with AA2200 pushing the pills. Hope this helps. Semper Fi Mickey

JJ,

Regarding the 6.8 I would stay with the SPC reference availability of ammunition in most major sporting goods and larger gun shops. The two calibers I am partial to are the 458 SOCOM for accuracy as well a "stomping" game. (Pigs DRT!) And the 6.5Grendel for accuracy and longer range shooting. Have also killed deer, pigs, coyotes and prairie dogs at long range with the 6.5. Both of mine are sub MOA guns.

which did you choose the spc or spc 2?

I picked up a SPCII 1:10, it is a LMT barrel, got it from their Milsurp blem shop.
