Honestly, if I were you, I'd go for the $29 model and see how it works. If it holds zero reasonably well, how much more scope do you expect to get for twice or three times the price?

fin,
one book that I use quite a bit is:
AR 15 Complete Assembly Guide (AR-15 Guide Vol 2) by Walt Kuleck & Clint McKee
You can order it from Amazon, Borders, etc.
Or you can go to this link:
http://www.ar15.com/content/guides/assembly/lower/
if you scroll down on that link, you'll notice they have links to how to assemble just about anything else on the AR.
Hope this helps,
Slo

First off,Junho thats a nice AR you built. I'm new here so Hello to everyone. My first AR I bought,a RRA 20" varmiter and it is a great gun,but a little on the heavy side to tote around. After I had it awhile I decided to build one,and went to a gun show and bought a DPMS stripped lower, and a complete upper from Model 1 Sales(they are on the web). If you get their upper kit it comes with everything except the stripped lower and you can get whatever stock, forearm, receiver, barrel, etc. you want in the kit. I got the flattop receiver w/a 16" SS Heavy 1in8 twist bbl and a carbine floating handguard. It was a blast putting it all together and you get some satisfaction in knowing you put it all together. Both of them shoot great, and it's sure fun to see groups that small out of something you assembled.
The Rock River is the top gun,and the one I assembled is the lower one.

^ Very nicely done Tx. I am a big fan of the AR platform and have been trying to get as many black rifles into good homes prior to the election that I can.
As you have some experience building your own, please peruse the AR threads from time to time and weigh in where you can. The more people we can convince just how easy these things are to assemble, the better.

Did you get the JP kit from Brownells or something? If so, yes, they are drop in replacements. Nothing fancy needed...
