i was looking at some risers for my red dot scope
what does it mean when it says its "see-through"?
is it necessary?
what do you guys recommend?

It means you can peek under the scope or red-dot sight and use your regular iron sights -- the risers do not block your view from the rear ghost ring to the front post.

Personally, I would not recommend risers for a red-dot sight because you will not be able to cowitness with the iron sights.

No, it won't be a problem. If it's more comfortable a little bit higher, use the risers.

What's your price range and what do you want the scope to do for you? You mentioned a red dot, but do you want limited magnification? Or just a plain 1x power that offers heads up display?
