i just finished mine first for around $650.00 shipped thats just the plain rifle with out all the extra i have been buying. i bought my upper from jse surplus 349.00 on sale with a rock river bcg included and a bulldog m4 barrell,double star lower with j&t & double star parts kit,utg stock and buffer tube. what i have added is a yhm fixed gas block sight,a.r.m.s #40 a2, magpul moe buttstock,magpul rvg,magpul carbine stock and last and not least a aimpoint comp m2 of course alot of these items are used and for a good price. I'm almost done i have a few more items i still want to buy a single point sling and sling plate, magpul miad grip,a different flash hidder and maybe later a osprey piston kit(way down the road)

Congrats!!!!! That is one nice weapon. Do not worry about the movement of the dot in the EOtech. If you did not know the EOtech system design was patterned after the F-14 Tom Cat Fighter Jet sighting system using that same holographic design. And as you know when one of the fly boys are chasing a boggie (Target) it is impossible for them to keep their head still. So hence the same system you have on your EOtech. With no parallax. You do not even have to have a cheek weld on the stock. The second you see the dot on the target you can shoot it. If you want to have some fun. Point your gun at a target then have a buddy start lowering a business card a little at a time starting at the top of the front of the screen. You will notice that as he lowers the card the holographic reticle will seem to move down also so you can see the reticle even when there is only about a 1/4 inch of opening at the bottom that the card is not blocking. Try it you will be amazed.
That AR is impressive and as the guys on the forum had advised you can do it! Obviously now you are addicted. God I hate that when it happens!

After reading through some of the posts here I am now considering building my own M4 or AR15 and have looked at Brownells' videos 3 times.
I know the receiver needs an FFL license so I would have to go through a dealer and pay their fee. How complicated is this process and do I have to get the dealer myself?
Is the receiver the only parts that needs an FFL?
I live in Miami, FL.

The lower receiver must be bought from a FFL. You can buy it locally and do everything in one transaction or buy online and have it shipped to a FFL and pay a transfer fee. Odds are the online dealer will have a list of local FFLs, otherwise you'll have to track one down and get that info to the online dealer.

The rest of the AR can be shipped to your front door unless you buy a short barrel or funky muzzle device.

What Quentin said. If you track down the FFL yourself look around a bit. Transfer fee's vary a little bit, and any money saved helps in my opinion.

I would never build an AR-15. It will just be a junk heap of parts. I prefer to buy name brand quality with a warranty.

My cheapest is a LaRue Tac OBR 5.56 20" with a Steiner 5-25x56 Scope so I can reach out there and touch me some zombies.

I picked up a RRA lower at a gun show this weekend. And after some advice on here ordered the DD LPK and Stock and pistol grip. All parts will come in under $300. shipped. I cant wait till it all shows up
