If you're looking for a durable rifle Colt, Bravo Company Man., Daniel Defense, and LMT are probably the most common. Palmetto State Armory is making a name for themselves and can be purchased at a fair price.

I would personally not purchase a Bushmaster.

If you'd be so kind as to let us know your budget, what your intended use is and what ranges you intend to shoot we can make better suggestions for you...

I have a 2000 budget I'm thinking bout a 6.8cal. Or a 223 cal I want a 308 cal but to high

Stick w/ 5.56. You'll be able to shoot 5.56 plus cheap .223. Or you can look into 300 Black Out. It'll give you a .308 bullet in a 5.56 case which makes it work w/ everything 5.56 (such as mags and BCG). All you'll need is a .300BLK barrel.

Right now ammo is roughly $12 per 20 but plinking ammo is in the works which I've heard will be around $10 per 20.

Edit: $2k is a nice budget. You should be able to get yourself a real nice AR. I'd really look into a BCM.

What ranges and type of shooting?

With $2g you can easily do an AR10 / AR308. You can get mil suplus ammo to plink or nice match grade to reach out and touch someone at 1000+ yards. Of course you'll ned some good glass to that.

MJ's suggestions are great too, if you start out with a complete 5.56 you can opt for a 300 blackout or 6.8spc upper later.

So you can a decent .308 and some ok glass or a very nice 5.56 that decked out / fully loaded for $2g. My last AR15 was 1300 + 550 red dot + 45 sling + 50 trigger upgrade + 30 bad lever comes up to just shy of your budget. The 308 platform is even more expensive, so you'll have to scrimp a little more to make your budget and high quality glass an be just as if not more than your actual gun.

I'm going to be shooting around 550-600 meters and just to have fun

Were can u buy a bcm all the gun shops here have colt bushmaster dpms stag arms rock river arms

cfraga1978 12-13-2011 04:57 PM

Most lgs can order you what ever you want w/a deposit. Or you can have your lgs send in a copy of there ffl to bcm and then you order it and it is sent to your lgs you just pay the $25 transfer fee and pick up your gun.

High angle hell. Death and destruction from above.
