Default Which, if any, Level body armor can M855 penetrate

What , if , any level, body armor can a M855 bullet penetrate if shot from a 16 inch barrell at short range?

Anyone know, or have a very educated guess?

Thank you.

We spend SO MUCH on extra ammo so we will always have a stash "just in case" its outlawed..

If we just spent half of that money on supporting the NRA, we wouldn't have to worry about maintaining a stash "just in case"

Level 1
level 2a and level 2
level 3a and level 3

Level 4 if no plate is inserted.

I knew it could not do level 4, but 3 is quite good

I very strongly suspected it could do that given what it was designed for originally.
But since I did not find it listed in any spec sheets I was looking for confirmation

Google the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) for government standards. (standard .06 IIRC)

They've got more good info than you'll have time to read!

Safariland, Second Chance and other manufacturers.
