How do I know what size picatinny rail fits on my ar15
I have a rra car4 wat size rail does it use. my first ar still learning
|
Need to read your manual. wat size gas system you got?
*Groan* :D |
Its a 16in barrel, n I measured the hard guard and it measures 6 1/2 or so inchs,
|
So you have the carbine length gas system? What front sight do you have? What kind of rail do you want? FF or will you just get the handguard replacement style? Gotta start reading (stickys), and more importantly shooting, at least a few hundred rounds before upgrading parts.

I have gone to the range a couple times n have ran 300rounds or so thur it. Id like a drop in quad rail. Jus not sure the size.

7" - assuming you have 7" handguards and a standard end cap on a standard A2 style FSB/gas block.
But make sure that's really the case before buying anything. You might want to post a picture to help us tell. |
I'm guessing its 7".

Attachment 57653
Attachment 57652 it measures about 6 and a half inches when I put a ruler to the handguard |
You would need to acquire a Carbine length two piece drop in rail to make a change without removing the front sight/gas block.
Diamondhead, Yankee Hiil, Midwest Industries, and many other folks make the rails you describe. Magpul makes a hand guard to which you can attach rails also. You are in the early stages of BRD. Black Rife Disease. Enjoy your Sport Utility Rifle. |
