Yeah, bad idea, mechanically, safety, and legal wise.

if you don't have a degree in mechanical engineering, or a strong background in metal work such as lathes and milling machines, welding or are certified gunsmith, i don't see anyway possible you will ever have any luck building what you say you have a patent on. i wish you luck, because you're going to need it.

I have a degree in mechanical engineering and I still wouldn't try this. Just so many possible headaches when you cam just go buy a 150 round drum. Problem solved

Sometimes an idea looks good in the head of someone less experienced, but it takes some people who have been there, done that, to convince him of the error. I am hoping we have gotten throught the OP that this is not a wise course of action to pursue. If I had hit a very large lottery (hundreds of million$), I might have opened a gun factory and hired a couple of engineers to build something similar for sh**s and giggles, but to build something like what the OP was talking about and keep it safe and legal would take a lot of equipment and an R&D department, plus a staff of lawyers, none of which I have.

I'm an API certified master machinist with years of experience on just about every manually operated machine out there and i wouldn't bother either.
