Great job JD - I will refer to it when I order my new trigger to replace the horrible single stage that came with my DPMS LAR308. .

Many Thanks RL - Best of luck. It should be an easy drop in for you.

That has been exactly what I have been looking for. I'm a cheap Ba$tard and don't think I need to shell out $1800 for a decent ar platform. Now if I ever get off my lazy 5th point of contact and actulay do it is a whole nother post in its self.

Thanks cpt - The lower is really easy to put together. It's just a couple of tools and a little know how.

I need to get off MY posterior and get the write up done on building the upper, but I have been busy, and lazy, and haven't gotten it done yet.

It is on the way though... LOL

Did the photos take a tour in Iraq? Wazzup?

I would love to see this process a lot more than read about it only. Thanks JD. I'm looking at that sticky on a budget AR. $786 plus shipping and FFL fees (at the time of this writing, at least--April, 2010).

Doing it myself would be a fabulous learning process. Then I'd know what parts look like in case I ever need to cannibalize another AR for parts in a SHTF situation with no gunsmith around.

This is a great resource, JD. Thanks.

My trigger spring, assuming I have chosen the correct spring, seems to have one end that is wider than the other. Does the larger end go downward or upward into the trigger housing?

Thanks!

These will help the wider portion of the spring goes downward toward the trigger.

What are the advantages of 2 stages trigger over standard GI triggers? All I found is that 2 stages triggers are not as durable as standard trigger.
