DEPENDS....
on 3 things....barrel, ammo and shooter. Most ARs are 1 to 2 moa shooters. Precision oriented models can get 1/4 moa.

So a 2 moa shooter will be 10" groups at 500 yards.

1/4 moa would be 1.25" groups at 500 yards.

just don't expect to get sub moa groups with 2-3 moa ammo. Just won't happen statistically.

Good point on the ammo, AT. A lot of things come into play for most of us to keep 1MOA at 350 meters and beyond. I can't do it.

My brother shot on the 2MarDiv team out to six hundred meters for a while before 9/11.

What's his name if you don't mind me asking? I was out there from 98-01 with 1st Bn 10th Marines.

Please forgive me for being kinda hesitant to post real names on an open forum.

But he was with 3/8 from 00 to 03 and then I think he went to 2nd Recon Battalion.

Understood, I don't blame you, especially with him being a part of Recon. Didn't know anyone from 3/8 back then anyways.

Speak of the devil, he called just as I was reading your replies. He wants to know if you were a part of RCT-8 in Fallujah in 06.
