HK416 Question
I'm just wondering, does the HK416 have the same selective firing modes as the M4A1? Or just Single, Full Auto? Not the MR223 civilian version.
Figured I'd put this here as it's as close to the M4/AR-15 you can get.

On the 416 your options are safe , semi or full auto.

You are welcome. BTW my buddy has been running a Colt M-4 with a Surefire can for work for years. He just got a 416 with a 10.5" barrel to play with about 3 months ago and after testing the crap out of it he's retiring the Colt. Awesome gun! I might get to play with it soon if the schedules work out.

I agree the H&K 416 would make anyone throw rocks at a US military issue M-16 or M-4. The military could update all the rifles in stock with 416 uppers and have a much better weapon. Besides being a piston operated rifle, the thing is almost unbreakable, all in all fine weapon.

I understood that the H&K pins are in different locations and won't work with other AR lowers?

That may be the case, but the Army SF guys are said to have fitted all their M-4 lowers in the latest wars with 416 uppers and when they needed to replace the entire rifles they purchased new 416 rifles (they don't draw from the same supply channels the rest of us pukes did). Latest word was that the Army made them return to using the same junk the rest of the Army does, but I don't believe they honored that for a moment.

I'll ask the SF guys here next time we work together. They carry a lot of strange AR variants. A few I've seen are short barrel 416's, some looked like SCAR's and a few are special 7.62 NATO jobs.

Might the 7.62X51 NATO job be the H&K 417, same gun as th 416 but in 7.62? As a side note the SCAR is amde by FNH in NC or SC, I can't remember which, they also make the M240, the M249 and either the M-16 or the M-4 (not both at this time).

They are indeed carrying the H&K417 as well.
