Find the optic that best fits your shooting style then decide on a solution for mounting it.

Trust us. For a standard type scope, you'll have multiple mounting choices.

Back to your barrel, do you know the twist rate? Looks like its fluted. I'm curious to how it shoots. Tell us how it works out for you!

That's what I've been trying to do here. Standard style scope with a 1" or 30mm tube and a 42/44mm objective. I'm asking for suggestions for mounting options.

I understand there are multiple mounting choices. I'm trying to find out what the most popular mounts would be for this style of optic.

The barrel twist is 1:9 which is what I wanted, but there was also a 1:7. It's not fluted, but it's got a really cool contour. It starts out thick at the receiver and tapers down sharply. It goes to a smaller diameter for a couple inches, the increases in diameter for about 5 or 6 inches around the gas block area. Then it tapers back down to the previous diameter. Then it makes a complete step up to the thicker diameter like around the gas block all the way out to the of the barrel.

Consistent and repeatable. Most say they experience no POI shifting when dis/remounting. Not sure if its the right height or will fit your optic of choice but these are highly regarded. Rings come in multiple sizes, 1", 30mm, 34mm, 35mm.

You also need to know what length the optic is as the make different off sets in order to get proper eye relief. How long is the optic? What's the required eye relief?

I'm looking at a Sightron SII Big Sky. Not sure what the overall length is or the eye relief.

So I just put some OD green Magpul flip-up sights on the gun so that I can at least shoot it without having to borrow a scope. And I also just ordered a Nikon M-223 3-12x42 scope with the BDC 600 reticle. They had a promo that includes a free M-223 mount as well. Problem is they are backordered so it will take 7-10 days to get my scope and mount. Looking forward to putting it on.

It will be a while before I get the scope and mount in, but I will post pics as soon as I can and provide a brief range report.
