Default Help me build an AR for free. ;)

Well ok not really free, but close enough.

A friend of mine has commissioned me to build him an AR15 and has given me $1000 to do so, now I know about the legality of this so I'm just picking out parts and he is buying the lower and assembling. I'd like some suggestions on what to build, he has some pretty loose guidelines and has given me creative freedom.

Anyway, he has stated that he would like a mid-length 16" in 5.56 with flip up sights, a free float handguard or rail and a Vltor stock. Everything else is open. Anyone have any suggestions on parts? I plan on using PSA as a base.

He intends to run an Eotech 512 later if it matters.

Thanks guys.

I have a Magpul MOE+ grip and a BCM Gunfighter charging handle on my AR. Maybe look into those. I love mine.

One of these would be pretty cool too.

I have those on mine also and absolutely love them. The gunfighter charging handle is going on it for sure.

I've got a blackhawk grip on mine. It's nice for my hand. I'll tune into this as I want to improve mine over the basic build.

Anybody have a suggestion for a free float rail that won't break the bank?

Midwest Industries Gen 2 SS from 9 to 15" length, slim, sturdy neat about $170 and worth every penny. PSA has them on some of their uppers and may save a lot of assembly by purchasing a complete upper.

Diamomd heads are nice, the easiest instal. No special wrench required, it's basically a low profile hex nut. No timing is required for the gas tube. It's $149-169 based on where you get it. imageuploadedbyfirearms-talk1389453240.809149.jpgimageuploadedbyfirearms-talk1389453253.724948.jpgimageuploadedbyfirearms-talk1389453263.694039.jpgimageuploadedbyfirearms-talk1389453273.334956.jpg
