First of,it's freakin badass to have a gun forum, I would never imagine.... Ok now here's my friend who is trying to sell me his AR. He wants $1500 with a 20 round mag. It's spanking new, still in the box, never shot it, but he's one of them guys who buys anything just because he's got the money. Oh and it's an AR carbine windham.

Way too high, that would be a decent price for a pair of Windhams.

Just my personal opinion here, but I think $1,500 is high for a basic AR like that one. I think if you are looking to get one you could get one with a whole lot more features for that money. Or if you want a basic one like that, you should be able to get into one like that for $800-900. Welcome to the forum.

RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your "friend" is asking $500 more from you over MSRP and..... MSRP is about $200 higher than it should be for that rifle.

You will see this a lot throughout the next year. People are trying to sell their rifles that they picked up during the climax of the gun scare for close to what they purchased them for. It ain't gonna happen. People need to realize that they got taken to the cleaners and if they want their money back they have to settle for at most half of what they paid.

This is correct. Check their website. That rifle is right at a grand.

PSA http://palmettostatearmory.com/ currently is selling a much higher quality rifle kit for $499, add a lower for $129 and you get a superior weapon for $630. take the extra money and buy a 10 pack of 30rd mags for $99 and then buy a thousand rounds of ammo. It is still cheaper than what your "friend" wants for a low quality weapon. Just my 2 cents;)

Skip the Windham and find a new friend.

Man, I bought a Colt 5.56 with all the goodies for that much!

way too high! i agree with the others. for $1500,you could put together one really, really nice AR, maybe even with optics.

Thanx guys for all your opinions, seems like the people here are great. Actually I've heard from some of my ex-military buddies that buying kits gives you the same exact weapon @ a fraction of the cost, but I don't know if that sounds right tho!! Otherwise everybody would be going that route. But I'm sure the Good Samaritans here are gonna send me the right direction on getting my AR. I just can't wait to start firing one:)
