I have a chance to buy a Colt complete 5.56 lower with M4A1 marking. I am new to AR's so I'm not sure if it's a good deal. Price is $700. Those with exp please weigh in. Thanks.

Run away.

There are very few lowers worth that much. Collector items maybe. Large caliber recievers and full autos yes. 5.56? No.

You didn't mention what it comes with. If it came with an ARgold, or Geissele DMR hi speed, and a PRS with a monopod, then maybe it would be worth it.

U can get a complete colt for 1000.

sell the upper for 450, bcg for 150 and enjoy a 400 complete factory lower.

That would be the way to get a real Colt lower. G&R Tactical used to have complete Colt lowers for about $500 and I think that's what they did (sold the upper and lower separately).

G&R had a Colt 6720 LW lower and I was very tempted to get it then add a BCM LW midlength upper. Or an unmarked PSA LW midlength. A real conversation piece!


BTW, if that was a real M4A1 lower... I don't know what to say!

Standard Colt trigger and butt stock, all stock Colt. I wish it were a real M4, I'd have a stamp being put through as we speak. It's marked M4A1, but has SA FCG. Anywhere else I could get one marked as such?
