So, first a little back story- as the money becomes available, I plan to convert my ar into more of a KISS build, with an a1 upper receiver, maybe a forward assist, maybe not.
Any how, I have a standard m4 profile barrel from Daniel Defense, and I would like to convert it to a regular gasblock/front sight.
The barrel is only dimpled, so I was thinking of doing a set screw but I dont think that a single rear, and two up front on either side, would cut it.
What other options are there?

If its dimpled but no shoulder I would think about selling the barrel as-is and buying one with a shoulder, A2 front post and handguard cap installed. If the barrel was not profiled for a handguard cap adding one (handguard cap) is a PITA. You need to take that KISS mentality into the build as well. Keep it simple...and the simplest way is the original way. For the cost of what you are thinking of doing, you could sell that barrel and buy a brand new one configured how you want it.

Oh, I re-read the post. Its a standard M4 profile. You are in Socal. Contact AR15Barrels.com in Mar Vista. I think he is still doing little things like that. You can also call Riflegear in Fountain Valley or Addax Tactical in the san fernando valley. Any of them will mount the A2 FSB for a few bucks I think.

Well, I ran by jg sales( moving to prescott valley, az, but their gun smith is out for the day, and sent an email to vang comp, though i doubt they perform such services.

If you have a barrel with dimples already you'll be fine. I have ran a set screw low profile GB on multiple ARs in the past w/o issue. My favorite are the micro lopros from YHM. They have two set screws at the bottom and hold great. I prefer taper pins but like I said I've experienced no issues w/ set screws.

It doesn't sound like you need to pay someone to do it for you. Just get them tight and inline w/ the gas port.
