Finished at last!

I've been saving up for this one for awhile. This is what I'll call an AR-15A3 type rifle. Upper, carrier assy and sight handle are BCM, the Lower is an Armalite with Daniel Defense LPK and the stock is mil-spec w/forged tube from Specialized Armament Whse. It's a clean canvas for add-ons but I'm inclined to leave her as is...:) What do you folks think? No range time yet but I'm looking forward to it.

Next in the works is the 70's retro carbine...that'll be some months down the pike as the funds slowly add up...I think that's half the fun!

Good lookin rifle,Now go get us a range report on it! I'm sure you will like the way it performs at the range.

A quick follow up...went to a rather windy shootin' range Saturday to test fire and check practical accurracy...that is, shooting off hand out to 300 yards at a 8" steel plate. I only spent 50 rounds, slow fire. No issues whatsoever...feed and extraction 100%. shoots to point of aim at 100 and 300 yards. as usual, a little low close-up and on the money at distance. I am pleased with the performance. I'll need to send the fire group to Bill Springfield for some fine tuning. Every red blooded American should have one...at least one! :)

Great news. Nothing like building your own and then testing it. Do tell about the Bill Springfield work.

What does he do and what does he charge? Benefits? Timeline on turnaround?

Thanks,

JD

Sorry Dillinger, I guess I should'nt assume :) I have had Bill work on an HK-91 type rifle (trigger and paddle mag-release) and a couple of AR's including my Colt 6920 LE carbine. you send him your trigger, hammer and disconnector including springs and a check for 35.00. You get back the parts in approx. 1-week and re-install. The 35.00 pays for a 4# service trigger, he removed the creep outta my Colt trigger. He does fine work and is quite reliable in my experience. He offers other options as well. His web site is: Bill Springfield - www.TriggerWork.net He always replies to emails and I trust him.

That's a good looking rifle. I'm glad it's shooting good for you as well. Nothing like doing it yourself. ;)

Very nice AR you got there! Glad to hear it shoots well for you :)
