just a fyi.

milspec doesnt mean lowest bidder. it is a set of standards that define what is acceptable in parts quality to the current govt contracting procedure.

some companies like rra build to the tight end of milspec dimensions. companies like dpms cut some corners in testing and assembly to bring in a product at a low price point. my bcm and dpms panther will swap all parts around no problem. the only thing torqued correctly on the dpms was the grip screw.

the reason a lot of people want a milspec gun isnt to "go to war" its to avoid having problems when just out shooting for fun.

dont deride or put down people who choose to opt for a better quality gun we are all on the same team there is room for everyone. if you want to buy a dpms delton M&P go for it. im not losing money on your choice of a rifle.

Also there are too many who think a cheap AR is as good as a quality AR.

Sorry, I may have missed a gem or two but couldn't force myself to read the rest of your post. Too few paragraphs.

By "too few", you mean ONE.

The gun shop up the road has DPMS's hanging on the wall ready to go for $650. I got a DPMS kit $500 and spent $120 for a lower receiver.
I've only fired 4 shots though it, but my 12 year old has nearly melted the barrel down and loves it.
