If that happens the mini 30 and the 12 gauge turkey gun come out before the AR.

I'm just saying...

Or do I spend $300 more and get one that is "fun at the range" *AND* can defend myself/herself.... that I/she don't have to spend all of my/her time explaining to people "Well, its fun at the rnage, dont wanna use it for WAR< but its fun at the range...."

I call it the Ugly Baby Gun =)

Now, all I have to do is convince my wife that looks aren't everything...she married me, she sure as hell should be used to that concept by now!!

I *WANT* her to get an AK47...we don't currently have a 7.62 firearm in the house....And I want one

She did offer me an interesting proposal today...she said "If you give me YOUR colt, you can buy any rifle you want"

Now I just have to decide if I want to part with my baby or not....(the rifle....in case you were wondering, HA!)
Buy an AR in .300 Blackout so you have the big round you want,
Or
Buy a Mini 30 which is 7.62 x39

You know what? You're right. I'm wrong.

DPMS = or > any other AR

I've read you're posts in other flame wars. You win.

For s 1000$ I would go with a palmetto state armory, smith and season m&p 15, or a stag arms m3 there actually in the 800$ range.. For a 1100$ stag makes a gas piston m8 which would be a GREAT rifle..

we're not talking about someone who wants a quality rifle, we're talking about someone who wants something that "looks pretty"

BIG difference
I wouldn't spend the $1000 on a dpms .308. I dropped $2000 on dpms sass in 308. It's supposed to be their highly praised AR 10. The gun would not stop jamming. Stripped and cleaned multiple times and used heavy oil. No help from customer service. Sold it after 4 months and bought a colt le901. Wished I just waited for the colt in the first place.

Again, keeping peace in the household is worth 1000 bucks by itself. If it meant buying an AR with Honey Boo Boo's face on it would keep your wife off your butt about buying that AR you really want, it would be worth it just too keep her happy.
