Spikes or PSA?

What features?

I know i want collapsible stock, FA, most likely the chrome lined barrel etc...what other features do i want in a range/SHTF insurance rifle.

either one will be a fine rifle , just buy the roll mark you like best , both of them will shoot 5.56 NATO rnds or .223 . FA ???? dont we all your going to need a rear sight unless you get a carry handle , and if it doesnt have the standard front sight you will also need one of those , if it just has a gas block to put the sight on you will want a metal front sight . Get plenty of mags , Pmags work great and so do the GI mags but I havent had good luck with bushmaster mags so keep that in mind , I bought a couple because they were cheap and I got what I paid for .

Range and SD/HD are kinda dissimilar.

For a Self Defence/Home Defence SHTF gun I want a lightweight gun that handles well, turns fast. I'd get a lightweight gun, with a sling and torch, with a red dot, and a lighweight pencil profile barrel. For indoor use, the shorter the better.

For a range gun only I'd probably prefer a heavier barrel or at least a mid contour type barrel. You can probably forgo back up iron sights, and just put an optic (red dot, holo, scope etc) and have some fun. Probably look into free floating handguards if going over 400 yards often. Maybe consider a 18 + inch for shooting longer ranges, and 1x8 or 1x7 ttwist for longer bullets.

I liked the spikes/spider roll mark myself. I used a magpul ctr stock...it has a nice quick disconnect sling attachment point in the back. If i had thought about it i would have gotten a locking plate with the loop attached on it when i first put it together. but ohh well

FA = Forward assist.

Trying to get a "do all" in one fell swoop...kinda best of both worlds range SHTF type gun. Far as home defense inside, i have hand cannons for that.

Yeah, i am digging the spider on the spikes, definitely a cool roll mark!

I'm pretty sure my BCM/spike's is pretty much do all. Fun at the range, and i am sure that if need be and we need to depend on it for survival that it will probably do the trick. This Tuesday i am going to my first IDPA/ and the mix in rifle events. My buddy is in to it and wants me to pick it up....
