Default deciding on an ar10 to get. please help.

Im looking for a 308 that closely resembles an m16 yet still has quad rail mounting system. Looking also for lots of accessories: green laser, bright light, acog or similar 4x to 8x scopes. Any suggestons appreciated.

Looking to spend $2000 on gun, mags, ammo, and maybe a cheaper sight to start off. Trying to decide on the gun first of all tho.

Here is my POF P308. Not cheap but I think well worth the money.

No license needed for a suppressor. You pay a one time fee of $200 for a tax stamp through the class 3 dealer that you buy it from then wait about 6 months for the paperwork to run its course.
For $3000 I would go with a DPMS AR10, Trijicon TA-31 .308 bdc. A bunch of ammo. A laser won't do much good shooting at distance. Get a bi-pod instead. Or you can find a really nice used AR-10 and a nice used scope that will withstand the recoil. I have a DPMS and it's never given a minutes trouble. Just got the Sig 716 and put a Trij Accupoint on it with no troubles either.

If you want something right away, you need to look at buying something over the counter or second hand. Special builds will take you forever to get. I know that Cabelas was selling the POF's at one time but have not looked lately...

My suggestion exactly. I have the LR308 AP4. (16 inch M-4 version in .308) great weapon. Light, handy, Ergonomic, and dead accurate.

Of course the ACOG is legendary.

Reloading is almost mandatory unless you own oil wells.Get a small base resizing die since DPMS chambers tend to be a bit tighter than some others. (BTW, that's a good thing)
