Well we have been contacted many times about the same question, we have been erring on the side of caution but I feel for you and all those stuck in these areas. It may be something we need to consider going forward.

Question for the cali guys...

if you have an AR with the "bullet button" mod that requires a "tool" to remove the magazine...does it still count as a magazine subject to the restrictions of the law?

or does the "permanetly fixed, requires tools to remove" create a loophole where the magazine is no longer a magazine?

BCM/EAG 14.5" ML complete upper
BCM bolt carrier group
Gunfighter (med) charging handle
Magpul rear mbus
MOE handguard

$725. I have one and love it!

Perfect upper for a compact, light, and tough as nails $1100 build.

Currently bullet button tools satisfy the legal requirements of law. But there is currently legislation that will ban their use. Actually there is ALOT of laws incoming that will make life a living hell for gun owners. The recent Santa Monica incident isn't making anything easier either.

Thanks Tikki.

my question was on magazine capacity though, not the bullet buttons themselves...

If you've got one of the bullet button mag releases, are you then exempt from the 10 round magazine limit because the 30 round "high-capacity" magazine is no longer "easily removed"? or are you still limited to just 10 rounds?
