Good info. Did not know that. They also have BCG for $189.99. I'm assuming it is Mil-Spec.

Yes that $189.99 BCG has a Carpenter 158 steel bolt not the lesser 8620 steel. It's probably not MPI marked (which means they are batch tested instead of ALL tested), they also have an MPI M16 BCG for $189.99 (all the bolts are MP tested) but it's sold out. I got the unmarked bolt that you and GP linked, it looks good. Nice staking but some people have complained about "overstaking". (Seems the ones with gas keys that are numbered between the screws are softer steel and the staking goes a bit overboard.)

BTW, PSA has said these $189.99 BCGs are not PSA - they are 3rd party, probably YHM (which actually should be CMT/Stag). I don't have a clue who makes the 8620 BCG but PSA says the bolts are heavily marked MPI, still I'd go with unmarked Carpenter 158 steel or better yet MP marked Carpenter 158 steel.

I've contemplated buying that PSA BCG/CH combo (w/ 8620 bolt) for $170.

Is it the best of the best? Nope. Is it quality, solid, good enough, better than a lot of what's out there, and probably as good as most folks actually need? Yep. I think it's good quality, great for builders, excellent for those on a budget, and also a fine option for those who want a quality backup BCH/CH at a fair price.

The only problem is that I don't have any need for it at the moment (have two extras each of BCM bcg and ch at the moment), which seems an okay problem to have. But my opinion is this PSA package is a solid buy.
