Default Colt 6920
I had a great range session this afternoon to wring out my new Colt 6920. The cabine had a few mods done by ADCO who does great work. The buis are standard M4 Matech flip ups and they were surprisingly accurate. I shot Winchester 55 grn Q3131
Winchester 62 grn M-855
Federal 55 grn XM-193
All functioned well with the best groups going to the Federal XM-193, my Colt loves this stuff. I mounted my ACOG TA-11 which fits perfectly over the Matech BUIS with Trijicons TA-51 mount.
The ACOG is the perfect optic for this carbine and makes accurate shooting boringly easy. Any forum members who have ACOGs know just what I'm talking about. What really impressed me though were the Matech BUIS. I always thought these were just that, strickly back up sights should your optic fail. But these are really great iron sights and I could use them all day long even with my 65 year old eyes.
I've owned several ARs over the decades and this Colt is one of the best.

Nice AR, mag318! Hard to go wrong with Colt and you've got it about as milspec as anyone can get it with the Matech and ACOG! Thanks for the range report...

I just took the ACOG off my 6920 and put probably my favorite military scope on it. It's a Hensoldt Z-24 with an illuminated reticle. I thought I'd have trouble mounting it because of the Stanag fittings. I had it set in an ARMS 19 Throw Lever mount on an Armalite AR. But that rifle had no front sight to clear like my 6920. I found and inexpensive 1" riser on Amazon and now my Hensoldt clears the Colt front sight. I know these Hensoldts are old technology but I've always likes these series of scopes. Original designed in Germany for their H&K G3s they have wonderful optics and are extremely tough. This 6920 was fitted with a 14.5" M4 barrel so about 200/300 yards will be it's effective range and this 4X Hensoldt should be perfect. We'll soon see how it shoots and if I like the setup.
