Charles daly defense

Anyone know anything about Charles daly defense rifles? I know the shotguns are junk but don't know much about the rifles.

I've read a lot of good things about their ARs, even after CD went out of business. Corners weren't cut, the quality was very close to Colt, BCM, Daniel Defense, Noveske and LMT. If you come across a good deal I wouldn't be afraid of it.

Also, a few years ago I bought a CD stripped lower for my son-in-law. It was made in Harrisburg, PA, his hometown. Beautifully finished lower with a flared magwell. No issues at all with the build.

I just picked one up. I was nervous about it at first but after a good looking over it seems to be a good quality built rifle far superior to their shotgun quality. I was just trying to see if anyone has had any experience with them.

Post some hires pics if you can, I'd love to see it. I really think you've got an AR fit for duty. Take a look at Stickman's review of the CDD M4LE over at Weapons Evolution.

A LGS had some M4LEs for $1200 last year, too much when you could get a Colt 6920 for $100 less. But still, a nice AR if the price is right.

As you and JonM said CD has put out some junk but they took a lot of pride in their M4gery. Also their early imports of FEG Hi Powers were nice, beautiful bluing.

This is what it looked like when I got it. It's currently stockckless and scopeless. I'm trying to get rid of the slidefire stock and put that money toward a good rds.

Quentin 05-06-2013 06:46 PM

Yeah if you lose the slidefire stock, bipod, scope and drum it would be a nice light carbine. You probably could get good money for those parts too.

I've never seen a CDD with the railed gas block...

psychosam 05-06-2013 08:52 PM

It may be an aftermarket block. I'm not really sure what the yuppy that had it before me did. He said he bought it for the zombie apocalypse then he got the slide fire and cheap scope cuz it looked cool. Then he realized that he couldn't afford the ammo so he traded it to me for an old busted atv.

Sounds like a good trade! You can outfit that CDD the way you want it and have a fine AR. Definitely look at Stickman's thread at Weapons Evolution, lots of great info and detailed pics in the review.

Where might I locate this weapons evolution?
