I just picked up a Bushmaster as well a few weeks ago. I got the ORC model (no iron sights) and it was "optic ready", meaning you need to add some sort of optics to it right away.

Shelf price at Cabela's was $880. Shoots 5.56 and .223, so that works fine.

It's a blast so far.

XD-9 SubCompact -- Walther P22 -- Savage 110 -- Mossberg 835 -- Ruger 10/22 -- Bushmaster 16" AR-15

I have a Bushmaster and a Bushmaster/Spike's Tactical, and they both work great. A friend of mine has a Stag, and it also seems to be good quality.

On the other hand, I've had some trouble with an Olympic Arms AR I shot....Not saying they're a bad brand, but the one I shot had some issues...

As for the price, I believe the Bushy was around $1000 new five years ago, and I pieced together my second gun for ~ $750.

Good luck.
