Buying Ar-15
 
Im currently 17 and enthuised about buying an Ar-15. 9mm
i currently have a .22 and want to move up a little bit.
my price range is around 1000.

im new to buying guys online. im getting ready to turn 18 in oct.
im trying to build up as much knowledge as possible
can you guys help me out with buying online.

this is the process i think is going to happen correct me if im wrong.
i want to buy a gun< gun is bought paid for<gun is shipped to ffl dealer< then send to me? correct?

yea, purchase it online, or in store. They ship it to your local gun store (FFL) and you go there to pick it up after paying the FFL fee.

Since there is a FFL fee, it is sometimes cheaper to buy from a local store that doesn't inflict that fee if you buy from them...

Or you could build your own. Many people on this forum have done so. It is pretty easy to do and you will know the AR platform from the ground up. See the stickies at the top of this section for more info.

You might want to comparer your states sales tax and your local stores priceing. Ive found when spending that kind of money purchasing online and paying the transfer fee is the least expensive route. My states sales tax is 7% +/- and my ffl charges $20 per transfer. Not to mention the retail firearms dealers around here seem to be overly proud of their merchandise.
