Thank you for your reply. The package deal was set up by the gun store and not the company. I am shocked to see Bushmaster, since most US gun companies are not exporting ARs to Europe. Sorry about the pastic vs metal. I meant in general and not Bushmaster. German companies do not make their ARs with plastic lowers. It has not hit over here yet. Handguns yes, rifles no.

They are plastic with some carbon fibers added. It is not the same carbon fiber that most folks think of when they think of it. Most folks picture woven carbon fiber sheets that are reinforced with a resin. The stuff in these polymer lowers is random strands mixed in with a plastic so that it can be molded easily. Seeing many pictures if broken carbon 15 lowers and uppers it is easy to see that this is not the same level stuff that they make race car and aerospace parts from.
