I looked at the .50, didn't like the ballistics. It's a great inside the wire round but energy falls off out past 100 to 125 yds. That's a big brick to push through the wind! The SOCOM is still singing the same 125yd 50 energy out past 250yds.

The Beowulf has an extremely rebated rim vs. the case diameter.

The .50 Beowulf was designed to generate devastating stopping power at short to moderate range.

The 458 has all the 45-70 bullets (300 to 600gr) available for reloading.

.450 Bushmaster, .458 SOCOM, or .50 Beowulf - AR15 Armory.com

Do you come up with the name before or after the range report?
