To upgrade an Oracle, I'd recommend a Vortex Red Dot. Great quality for the price ($120-140 Strikefire, $140-180 Sparc). A number of places from PSA to Cabelas often have deals on them. Bushnell's $100 TRS-series is also a good option.

The other additions (for me) would be ammo, mags, and then maybe Magpul foregrip and stock...in that order. Maybe a basic sling and rifle case, if you feel inclined. Flip sights would be nice too, but that's not real practical without a handguard upgrade. And I wouldn't make that much of a project/investment out of it. Keep it simple. Ammo, mags, red dot, basic furniture upgrade.

That's actually extremely helpful.

Just wait until the Vortex Strikefire goes on sale for 119 again. It can't be beat. Unless you're really strapped for cash, which I understand, I'd wouldn't buy anything UTG. Magpul sights are 40 for the front and 50 for the back in polymer but you will need the metal for the front like he said. I have some Troy Battle mags and pmags, and they are pretty good, but I've definitely had more problems with the Troy then the pmags. I've actually seen a Troy Battle mag go into the upper receiver during a mag swap and completely jam the action. Guy couldn't even get the gun apart. 8.95 is a great price, and I like aimsurplus, but for 1 or 2 more you can buy pmags. I'd go with that all day.

PSA has a Vortex Strikefire + Stripped lower combo for like $160. Once their Pmag/Bag combo comes back in stock I'm probably ordering one of each. Thanks, guys!!

Get iron sights first, and learn them, step up to a RDS or sight when you are ready for the next step.
