I saw this on another forum and thought there might be some interest here... looks good.
"Smith & Wesson has partnered with Magpul to produce their new M&P 15 Magpul mid-length. It features a FORGED lower styled just like Magpul's famed lower featuring unique styling and a integrated trigger guard. The rifles are S&W first mid-length gas system offering. They have a 1:8 twist 5R CMV barrel with a mid-length gas system and S&W's patent pending flash hider. They are offered with your choice of Black or FDE Magpul MOE furniture. MSRP is $1249."

I would like to fondle one of those, I really hate those handguards though. I know a lot of people like them but they just look to bulky to me and are too much of a handful. __________________

my next ar15 is going to be a near copy of that. minus the fsb for a flip up front post. minus the foregrip wit a acog.
i love the magpul handguards they are the next best thing to the old triangle handguards.
i dont like the sw flah suppressor at all its very ugly. __________________ "Gun control: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her panty hose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound." — L. The AR I put together last year at this time is much like the bottom S&W pictured. Mine has a S&W M&P-15 lower, Daniel Defense midlength upper/pencil barrel, MOE handguard and pistol grip, MBUS rear with A2 FSB, CTR stock...

I'm looking forward to this AR. I've been wanting a 1:8 and the Magpul lower is a draw as well. __________________ “The bitterness of poor quality Lingers long after The sweetness of low price is forgotten.”

I'm not a fan of them either. Just don't like how they look. Love the Pmags and the hand grip, just not the handguards.
Love MagPul in general, tho... __________________ "Life's tough. It's tougher if you're stupid." -- John Wayne |

That IS a great looking lower and I bet it's finished as nice as the older one I have. I love S&W lowers, silky smooth and nice beveled magwells. __________________ US Army 1966-69, VFW Life Member, Retired Geek |

How about the important stuff like the barrel? Can you get something like that on an Oly, DPMS, or whatever? __________________ “The bitterness of poor quality Lingers long after The sweetness of low price is forgotten.”

SW seems to be taking the consumers needs/wants to heart. It's going to force others to step it up. __________________ “The bitterness of poor quality Lingers long after The sweetness of low price is forgotten.”
