Personally I'd opt for the rifle gas.

When the gas port is sized correctly: The rifle gas system will cycle all ammo reliably, and have a slightly softer recoil impulse. BHW is a great company so I'd expect them to get the right size.

Hmmm well recoil on a 6.8 isn't bad. I'm used to shooting a 12ga or my 300 win mag. So um not too worried about recoil. Are there any other advantages to the rifle length gas?

Not really, but its not really recoil that a smoother impulse helps. It helps keep the nose on target, for faster follow up shots.

I think we can all agree, 5.56 isn't really a heavy hitter, all bark no bite.

Ill check further into getting a rifle length barrel. I just got my lower done about 20 min ago and I think it turned out pretty damn good and looks awesome to boot. Check out the pic below . I've got the od green magpul mags to match it.

Its a ctr with a larue "risr" cheek riser. The thing is that you still charge the gun with the stock in all the way. It is 2 pieces and is spring loaded so the top slides back when you charge the rifle. The charging handle just pushes it back as you pull it. Its pretty cool. It was $60 from larue. Kind of a neat toy I thought. I guess its made to fit ctr and moe stocks
